1. Base paper preparation:
In the production process of coated double-layer board, it is crucial to select the right base paper. The base paper is usually selected from high-quality wood pulp paper or other specific types of paper, which has the appropriate strength, surface flatness and absorbency so that the subsequent coating can be evenly applied and fixed. These raw papers may undergo pre-treatment steps, such as wetting or surface treatment before coating, to improve its compatibility and adhesion with the coating.
2. Applying the first layer of coating:
The application of the first layer of coating is one of the key steps in the production process. The first layer of coating is usually an adhesive or primer, and its purpose is to form a uniform and adhesive coating on the surface of the base paper. This layer of coating can not only improve the surface properties of the paper, such as increasing gloss and flatness, but also improve the adhesion and overall durability of the subsequent coating. After coating, the paper may go through a series of leveling and conditioning steps to ensure that the coating is evenly covered and without obvious defects.
3. Drying the first layer of coating:
After applying the first layer of coating, the paper needs to be processed through a drying equipment or other drying device to remove the solvent in the coating and cure the coating. Temperature, humidity and speed control during the drying process are critical, as they directly affect the curing speed and final quality of the coating. Sufficient drying ensures that the first layer of coating can firmly adhere to the surface of the paper, thus preparing it for the next step of coating and processing.
4. Applying the second layer of coating:
The purpose of applying the second layer of coating is to further improve the characteristics and performance of the paper. The second layer of coating usually includes ingredients that further treat the surface of the paper, such as enhancing gloss, improving water resistance or enhancing abrasion resistance. The coating process needs to ensure that the second layer of coating is compatible with the first layer of coating and can be well combined with the base paper to form a strong and functional two-layer coating system.
5. Drying the second layer of coating:
Similar to the treatment of the first layer of coating, after the second layer of coating is applied, the paper needs to be processed again by the drying equipment. The purpose of this step is to ensure that the second layer of coating is fully cured and dried to avoid displacement, adhesion or other quality problems of the coating during subsequent processing. The drying process usually requires careful control of temperature and humidity to ensure the completeness and uniformity of the coating curing.
6. Final processing and cutting: The final processing step involves the final processing and finishing of the coated paper. This may include surface coating to increase gloss or provide special functional properties, such as waterproofing or antistatic enhancement. At this stage, the paper will also go through a cutting or slitting process to cut it into the appropriate size and shape according to customer needs and specifications, and finally form a finished double-layer board product.
